James A. BrozJames (Jim) Anthony Broz passed away on October 31, 2016 in Bellevue surrounded by family. Jim was born on June 17, 1944 to Andrew and Elvene (Berlin) Broz of Monroe, Washington. Jim remembered a loving and idyllic childhood in Monroe where he enjoyed the close company of his many cousins, aunts and uncles. His family moved to Longview his senior year of high school, and Jim graduated from RA Long High School in 1962. He earned a Political Science degree from the University of Washington. While at the UW, in McMahon Hall, Jim met his wife of 43 years, Jan Weber. They married in 1972, and had three daughters, Sarah (Schieron), Allison (Vance), and Jessica. In 2007, after 35 years of service, Jim retired from working as an immigration officer for the federal government.Jim enjoyed food, traveling and had a strong commitment to political issues. Fittingly, his family will celebrate his life on Election Day. He is survived by his wife Jan; daughters Sarah (Keith); Allison (Brian); Jessica; grandchildren (Luna, Cooper, Rachel, Woodrow, Thatcher); sister Kristina (Dave) Beeken, and nieces Kelly and Andrea Beeken.In lieu of flowers, Jim would have requested you vote for Hillary Clinton or donate to a democratic organization or candidate.
