Evans, James A.James Albert Evans (Jim), 67, of Wisconsin Rapids died Saturday August 5th, 2017 in his home after a lingering illness.A celebration of life gathering will take place at future date. Online condolences may be expressed at ritchayfuneralhome.comJim was the middle child born on February 15, 1950 in Cook County, Illinois to Bert and Rexalie Evans.During his freshman year he moved with his family to Nekoosa, WI. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 and was stationed in South Korea. He was Honorably Discharged in 1971. Jim made a living as a diesel mechanic and then a diesel foreman working for various firms in the tri-city area until retiring from Wisconsin Valley Concrete Products. He was a member of the teamsters' union for over twenty years.Jim was a voracious reader. He loved movies, riding his motorcycle and chilling at his cabin in the north woods. He was an avid Bears, Brewers and Badger fan. In 2016 he once again rekindled his fondness for the Cubs.Jim is survived by his two daughters Jennifer (Stuart) Hetrick of Phoenix, AZ and Nicole (Ed) Gessert of Wisconsin Rapids; four grandchildren Nathan and Bethany Stone of Phoenix, AZ and Logan and Allie Gessert of Wisconsin Rapids; three sisters, Donna Rae Hardy of San Antonio, TX, Sharon Armstrong of Crystal Lake, IL and Robin (Bob) Ellis of Wisconsin Rapids and two brothers Mike (Eloise) of Fort Worth, TX and Rory of Wisconsin Rapids. He is survived by special childhood friend Joe & Sharon & Jim (Cruds).Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother David.
