James David Baugh, age 93, passed away in his sleep after a brief illness in the early hours of January 17, 2017, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.Jim was born on March 14, 1923, in San Bernardino, California. He was the son of James Baugh and Julia Shelton, the youngest of their five children. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1941 and married his sweetheart, Mary, on July 25, 1945.After working in a newspaper office during WWII, Jim began a long career as a title insurance officer and retired in 1985.After retiring, Jim and Mary traveled across the United States in their RV and settled in Las Cruces. There they bulit their dream home which overlooked the Mesilla Valley and the beatuiful Organ Mountains.Jim was a founder and lifelong member of the Sportsman Club of San Bernardino. He played tennis, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing poker with his buddies.Jim is survived by his wife, Mary, and sister, Edith Smith, of Green Valley, Arizona; his son, Tom, and daughter-in-law, Teresa, and their daughters, Molly and Megan; his daughter, Julie, and her sons, Michael and Tyler; and great-grandson, Michael.
