James Burrell FREMONT — James Edward "Jim" Burrell, 71, of Fremont died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital of Angola. Mr. Burrell had worked for Dana Weatherhead in Angola for 25 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Angola High School. He was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Wayne County, Mich., to Marion Russell and Aileen Marie (Wandel) Burrell. He married Margaret Ann Trausch on June 4, 1966, in Blakeslee, Ohio, and she survives in Fremont. Also surviving are three sons, Alan Burrell and David Albright of Indianapolis, Charles Burrell of Angola, Steve and Nikki Burrell of Fremont; several grandchildren; four sisters, Joann Bistel of Coldwater, Mich., June Person of San Diego, Calif., Janice Wilson of Frazier, Mich. and Nancy (Dan) Polzien of Stanley, N.C.; and two brothers, Jerry (Marie) Burrell of Troy, Mich., and Jack (Mary) Burrell of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Burrell; and a sister, Rosalee Parrish. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Lynn Eicher officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery in Fremont. Vivian Hurst CHURUBUSCO — Vivian Rosalie Hurst, 93, of Churubusco died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at Lutheran Life Village in Fort Wayne. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Memorials are to Medic 21 or the Churubusco Volunteer Fire Department. Esther Miller FREMONT — Esther Jean Miller, 91, of Fremont died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Northern Lakes Nursing Center of Angola. Mrs. Miller retired from Ingersoll Rand in Angola, after 12 years of service. She attended Fremont schools, she had also lived in Fort Wayne, Churubusco, New Haven, and Columbia, Ohio, prior to moving back to Fremont. She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Fremont to William and Clara (Wartenbe) Leonhardt. She married Frank Parrish II, and later married Karl Jones, and he preceded her in death in 1952. She then married Everette Lytle, and he preceded her in death. She later married James F. Miller on Oct. 21, 1973, in Columbia, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2014. Survivors are three children, Frank (Ligia) Parrish of Port Charlotte, Fla., Edward (Joyce) Jones of Peru and Karla K. (Doug) Days of Angola; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Russell, Charles, Marguerite, Lois, William 'Bill,' Florence, Jack, and Robert 'Bud,' and one daughter, Karen Hilker in 1983. Bush, 84, of Rockford and formerly of Camden, Mich., died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Saint Anthony Medical Center. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. today at Belvidere Funeral Home in Belvidere, Ill., followed by a Mass at the funeral home. Burial will be at noon at Saint James Cemetery in Belvidere. Dawn Sutton AUBURN — Dawn Norine Sutton, 54, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at her home in Auburn. Ms. Sutton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Garrett. She was born Nov. 8, 1959, in Bluffton. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Melody and Glenn Weil of Corunna; four brothers and a sister-in-law, Ronald Heimert of Garrett, David and Tanya Lithicum of Corunna, Dennis Sutton of Claypool and Phillip Bishop of Jonesville, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Bishop; and her mother, Nora Marie (Justice) Ritchart. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with Todd Steere officiating. Burial will be in Corunna Cemetery in rural Corunna. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Dorothy Cook WOLCOTTVILLE — Dorothy Cook, 92, of Adams Lake near Wolcottville died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville. Funeral services will be Friday, February 21, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. in the Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Woodruff Cemetery. Mary Brandt AUBURN — Mary Ellen Brandt, 96, of Auburn died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett. Arrangements are pending at Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn. Saren Gower BUTLER — Saren Ray Gower, 10-day-old son of Tyler R. and Caila A. (England) Gower of Butler, died Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was born Feb. 5, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Surviving with his parents are his grandparents, Dan and Shelly (England) Gilbert of Butler and Gary and Angie Gower of Butler; his great-grandparents, Sherry LaRoe of Homer, Mich., Duane and Kay Varino of Quincy, Mich., Paul and Jayne Gower of Auburn and Claude Bell of Auburn; and a number of aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Duane Varino; and his great-grandparents Carolyn Iris and Dennis Frasier. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Christ Church in Butler with Pastor Dale Rabineau officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Butler Cemetery. Memorials are to the family. H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Homes in Butler is in charge of arrangements. Vance Good Jr. LIGONIER — Vance A. Good Jr., age 85, of Ligonier, Ind., passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at 11:30 p.m. at IU Health Goshen Hospital in Goshen. He was born on December 7, 1928, to Vance A. and Minnie B. (Merchant) Good in Hammond, Indiana. On January 17, 1948, he married Lorraine Ginter. She survives. Mr. Good worked as a manufacturing supervisor for various companies. After retirement, Vance rejoined the workforce and worked for Walmart for 10 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ligonier. He enjoyed working on cars, tending to his garden, crossword puzzles, and doing various home repairs Survivors include his wife, Lorraine of Ligonier; three children, Cheryl A. (Tom) Houser of Wichita, Kansas, John A. (Jerri) Good of Fort Wayne and Cynthia (Charles) Schlemmer of Ligonier; nine grandchildren, Timothy, Thad, Tyrone, Sheena, Kiley, Travis, Zachary, Elizabeth and Caitlin; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Matt. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter, Linda. There will be a time of visitation held on Thursday, February 20, 2014, from 2-7 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with the Rosary service beginning at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service Mass will be held in Mr. Good's honor on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Wilson Corzo officiating. A burial committal will take place at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell, Indiana. Memorial contributions are to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Ligonier, IN 46767.
