ORLAND — James C. VanWagner, age 67, of Orland passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital of Fort Wayne. He was born on Nov. 18, 1948, in Garrett to Wendell "Dick" and Ruth L. (Ernsberger) VanWagner. They both preceded him in death. He was employed at VanWagner's Superette Supermarket and Camshaft, both of Orland, and for the Town of Orland and the Indiana Toll Road. He was a 1967 graduate of Prairie Heights High School. He attended Tri-State University and Manchester College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He attended the Orland United Methodist Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a great son and brother. Survivors include two sisters, Jill and Ron McNamee, JoAnn and Rod Lewis, both from Orland; five nieces, Meagan and Tyler Fry, Mallory and Matthew Grossman, Erica Lewis, Erin and Andy Harris, Laura Lewis; and seven grandnephews and grandnieces. Private family graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery of Orland at a later date. Memorials are to Orland United Methodist Church.
