James Cooper Jr., 58, of Plano, Texas, passed away on May 17, 2023 at The Remington Transitional Facility. James Jr. was born on February 10, 1965 to the late Pastor James Sr. and First Lady Imogene Cooper in Denton, Tx. He was raised along with his brothers and cousins and attended school in the Denton Independent School District.
Jr. loved many things, he played and excelled in football, he played the drums for the Collegiate Choir at St. Andrew’s COGIC church, and he was a member of the Gospelaires singing group along with his brothers Warren and Alford. He accepted Christ at an early age, which led him to become a minister at the age of 15yrs old.
Later Jr. met and married Yvette Butler. Their union brought fourth two boys, Christian and Chad Cooper. He moved his family to Dallas where they would reside and become members at The Potters House Church. Jr. worked in the mail room for a few years at the Potters House and later he became a paraprofessional for the Richards Independent School District for more than 10years.
After working as a security guard for several years, He was forced to retire due to health problems. James Jr. was a devoted husband and father and he will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
