James F. Crumly CHARLOTTE - Mr. Crumly, 95, died on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Charlotte, N.C. He was born on June 14, 1921 in Birmingham, Alabama. Jim was the valedictorian of his senior class in high school. He went on to graduate from the University of Alabama. Jim served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. His CPA career included time with Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell and Belk Store Services. In retirement, Jim was a volunteer with Presbyterian Hospital for 18 years. He was an accomplished wood worker and enjoyed working on clocks. Survivors include Sue, his wife of 72 years; two daughters, Candie Rankin (Sam), and Jenny Bolt (Jim); grandchildren, Sidney Rankin Medford (Mike), Murray Rankin (Hannah), Emily Bolt, and Sarah Bolt Moore; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Mason Medford, Finley Rankin. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Road, Charlotte, N.C.
