James Curry, 68, of Delbarton, WV went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2017. He was born December 7, 1948, in Elk Creek, VA.
James was the son of the late Ance and Olive Marcum Curry. Jim was a retired coal miner having worked more than 28 years. He was a member of the American United Baptist Church of Delbarton. He was a Vietnam Veteran, who loved his country. He also enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons, and gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Holly Varney Curry; daughter, Shannon (Jeff) Stumbo, of Dallas TX; two precious grandsons, Camron Stumbo and Jordan Stumbo of Dallas TX, and one very special sister, Carolyn (Vern) Blackburn of Pikeville KY.
Funeral services will be held at the American United Baptist Church on Monday November 13, 2017 at 11:00 am with elder Jimmy Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at the Curry Cemetery Elk Creek. Visitation will be held at the church from 6-9 pm Sunday evening. Veterans and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
