James F. Druck, Jr.Springettsbury Twp.James F. Druck, 91, passed away on Sunday June 4, 2017 at the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen (Resh) Druck.Jim was born on May 7, 1926 in East Manchester Twp.. Son of the late Viola J. (Shaffer) and James F. Druck, Sr. He retired from Central York School District as construction supervisor. He previously had his own construction company and was an officer in the York Valley Inn Construction Company for 18 years. He also worked for Spera Construction in Camp Hill as a project manager and Host Inn, Lancaster, as project manager. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theatre with the 238th Engineer Combat Battalion, 7th Corp, 1st Army. He received the ETO Ribbon with 3 battle stars and Good conduct medal. He was a member of the 238th Combat Battalion Association, having served as president and sec/ treasurer. He was also a member of VFW Post 2493 Mt Wolf, American Legion Post 799 Pleasureville, Hawk Gunning Club and the Nittany Lion Club. He was a founding member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Nace officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.Jim is survived by a son, J. Fred Druck, III, husband of Molly, of Laurel NY; and a daughter, Sharon Kaufman, wife of Ralph, of York. Two grandsons, Travis Druck, husband of April, of TX and Peter Druck, husband of Amy, of Denver, CO; seven great-grandsons; brother, Dale Druck of Jacobus. In addition to his wife Jim was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Druck; and a brother, Richard Druck.Memorial contributions may be made to National D-Day Memorial Foundation, PO Box 77, Bedford, VA 24523
