WINDSOR PARK James E. Lane, Sr., 80, died Saturday, May 16, 2015, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Janet N. (Liester) Lane. They were married 61 years. Jim was born on February 8, 1935 in Maryland, A Son of the late N. David and Patty (Booth) Lane. He had worked at Cole Steel for 38 years and retired as a realtor from Century 21 Heritage. Jim was a life member of the 12th Ward Democratic Club and several other clubs. He was an avid sportsman who really enjoyed playing baseball and softball which eventually segued into being an umpire for many years. The viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Ward officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. In addition to his wife, Jim is also survived by seven children, James E. Lane, Jr, and wife Wendy, Robin Lines, Mark Lane, Alicia Roseberry, and husband, Kim, Bradley Lane, Toni Lane and Todd Lane, and wife Karen; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren, with one in the oven; two sisters, Edna Pepler and Rachel Sarti, husband Larry; and two brothers, Richard Lane and wife Barbara, and Ronald Lane, and wife Joyce. He was preceded in death by a son, Major B. Brian Lane and 10 brothers and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the York Cancer Center, Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd.
