Loving children as much as they loved him, Jim was best remembered for starting the Safety City program. After retiring, he went on to Marion City Schools as a custodian and was a friendly face in the hallways. An ornery jokester, Jim had nicknames for everyone. He enjoyed collecting coins, making stained glass, working on antique cars and playing Santa Claus.
