James White, 77, of Chicago, Illinois, passed on August 25, 2022. James was born on February 23, 1945.

He grew up with a single mom who nurtured her son, her only child, with love, respect, and friendship. She was the driving force in his life, forging a vision that guided his upbringing and education from early childhood. That vision culminated in the wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather he became.



James thrived on the south side of Chicago where he acquired his street smarts. He avoided the violence and the gang scene because his mother instilled in him the value of education and helped him navigate through his early years and the challenges of high school. She was thrilled to watch him pursue his dreams first by attending Wilbur Wright Junior College and subsequently graduating in 1969 from with a Assiociates of Science Degree in Business Administration.

James worked at Pacific Railroad for many years before settling in Maywood, IL with his
wife, Shirley Anne Jones. To their union was born his eldest son Jimmy E Jones, Michael James White, Keana White, and Jermaine White. From the time of his young manhood, James was known for several things: Cadillacs, clothes, and spending time with his people, including the Mothers of his children, his siblings and their children. No one who knew him will forget his deep voice (loud at times), his rolling laugh and his willingness to argue with you. He was generous to his family when he could be. After battling several illnesses for some years, James finished his race on this
earth peacefully resting on Thursday August 25th, 2022.

James leaves to cherish his memories his loving Wife Shirley (Billie Jean) White, Sons Jimmy and Micheal, Daughter Keana. Grandchildren Micheal Jr, Travis, Shaknequa, Jimmy JR, Trevis, London, Jasmine, and Jashia. Great grandchildren Kevin Jr, Micheal III, and Kinsley.

James smiled upon entering the gates of Heaven, for his beloved mother and youngest son greeted him with smiles and open arms and a confirmation of a Job well done!
