James Sherfield, 59, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed on July 13, 2023. James was born on January 13, 1964. He was the second son to his mother, Ollie Byrd, who he truly loved with all of his heart and his father, Turner Sherfield, they had a decent relationship before his father's passing. James is a father of 3 children, his oldest son, Danny Elliott, his daughter, Elsie Jane, and his youngest son, James Tyler Sherfield Jr. He also has 5 siblings that he leaves behind to carry on his memory: Jessie (Cookie) Sherfield, Turner Sherfield, Lynn Sherfield, Anthony Sherfield (Tony), and Dabney Henderson (Deb), 13 nieces and nephews,15 great nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. James came from a large family that is filled of love and compassion.

James grew up in the OKC neighborhood and attended PC West high school and then continued to a votech school and job corps to further his education. He had many jobs in his life to where whatever he did, he exceled at them. James was intelligent and very knowledgeable.

James loved to cook on the grill and cook BBQ food. He would read the bible and books everyday and would wake up and go to sleep saying a prayer to God. James loved spending time with his kids. He would dance with them, tell jokes, play with them, and "just be" with them. Spending time with his family and close friends was the highlight of his day. If you knew James, you would know he is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan! He would always watch the game and cheer them on to victory. He is also a protector and would do anything for the family and friends that he loves. Playing Dominoes was also a highlight of his day.

James, your passing was very sudden and hit harder than we all thought it would. You have put so much love into all of us that we will continue to share your love and compassion. Your memory will live on forever. God has been given an exquisite angel. You will forever be missed.
