JAMES SUTTON Jr., 62, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, passed on November 27, 2020. Ja,es was born on June 09, 1958, to the late James Erwin and Elsie Price in Elizabeth City, NC. During his transition to eternal life James was surrounded by his loving and caring family and friends while he battled with a chronic illness. He was a graduate of Northeastern High School and Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC with a Bachelor of Science degree. After one year of teaching he was called to two years in the U.S ARMY serving in Korean conflict. He was a dedicated member at Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 8 years and was also a proud and devoted member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was also proceeded in death by his brothers: Charles L. Sutton and Claude J. Sutton ; Sisters: Jasmine A. Sutton and Lisa R. sutton. James married Julia Hoffman Sutton on December 18, 1980 and have two wonderful children: Erin D. Sutton AND Kristal C. Sutton. He also has a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of James Sutton, Sr. can be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 109 Chadburn Ave, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.

The funeral will be held for immediate family on Wednesday December 2,2020 at 1:00pm- 3:00pm. If you are not immediate family the funeral will be held via zoom.
