James "Jimmy" Fredrick Lugo passed away on December 9, 2016 at the age of 70 in Phoenix, Arizona at St. Joseph hospital. Jimmy fought canser for 2 years before he went with the Lord. He was born on November 28, 1946, in Yuma, Arizona. He was proceeded in death by his father, Fredrick Lugo, mother, Irene Esperanza Lugo and brother, Andrew Lugo Sr. James attended San Pasqual Valley High School from 1962-1966 where he played football and baseball; which he received the first Spark Plug Award.Jimmy was a farmer C.A. Nelson from 1966-1968. He also worked for Mercury Service and Valley Service. He then worked for Suburban Sanitation/Allied Waste where he retired after 41 years in June 2008. James volunteered as a fire fighter at the Winterhaven Fire Department and Red Dog Safety. Jimmy was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and Diamondbacks fan. He had a strong love for camping, Picacho, and cooking shows. James is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doylene Todd Lugo. He is also survived by four children: Tracey (Silver) Lugo Dominguez, Teresa (Ariel Sr.) Lugo Saavedra, James Jr. (Jennera) Lugo, Joseph (Monica) Lugo; two brothers and one sister: Lawrence Lugo, Fredrick Lugo, Patricia Chavoya Lugo; 13 grandchildren: Joseph, Tiffany, Basillia, Ariel Jr., Kiana, Gage, Nevaeh, Abriela, Jacob, Jessera, Tatiyanah, Tristian and Keegan; two great-grandchildren; Kailani and Alexander; and many other relatives and friends. James was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew him as "Papa Jimmy."Services for James Lugo will be held on Friday, December 16th, 2016 at 10:00 am at Johnson Mortuary. Followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm in Winterhaven, California.In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted for the James Lugo Cancer Foundation which are greatly appreciated.
