Griffin Jr., James A.James A. Griffin Jr., age 64, known by many as Bo, died on October 21, 2016. He was born on October 30, 1951 to the late James and Margaret Griffin. A native of Bridgeport, he set his roots in Buffalo, NY for several years and relocated back to Bridgeport until the time of his death. James was a carpenter by trade and then he joined the ranks of nursing as a certified nurses aide and a phlebotomy technician. In addition to having many other trades, Bo was a Black Belt Master of Karate and loved teaching martial arts. Bo is survived by his son Arlando Jason Johnson, daughter Shatika Griffin, both of NY; Tyrese Williams, the eldest of eight grand-children; three sisters Carol Whitaker, Brenda Walden, both of Milford, and Marimeter Scarlett (Ronald) of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers Anthony (Tony) Christy of Milford, Mario Griffin (Sharon) of East Haven and Maurice Drakford of Waterbury; three brothers-in-law James Patterson and Allen Kornegay both of Bridgeport and Glenn Walden of Milford. He was predeceased by a son Thomas Lindsey of Atlanta, GA and three siblings Mary Jane Patterson, Audrey Banks Kornegay and Timothy Griffin all of Bridgeport. He also leaves behind a host of loving and caring cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. Relatives and friends may join the family for a celebration of life ceremony on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. at Savin Rock Conference Center at 6 Rock St. in West Haven (next to Jimmies Restaurant). Arrangements are in the care of County Cremation Service of Fairfield.
