James Brown was born on August 01, 1940 to Romella Brown. James was the oldest of four children. He received the last his education in Burlington, North Carolina in 1958 at Jordan Sellers High School.
At the age of 16 James relocated the Washington DC where he met Agnes Dua. The two married on June 13,1959. In November 1960 they welcomed their blue eyed baby girl into this world. Years later they adopted a second daughter Annette Joyner which they raised until adulthood.
James worked for Bureau of Apprenticeship and Ironing under the sponsoring of Amtrak. He later worked for REA Railroad for many years where he was the treasurer and retired with honors in 2002. With bigger dreams for himself James went back to college at the age of 50 and received his Associates college degree from Strayer University. There was nothing he couldn't accomplish.
He loved traveling,cooking,good company, and being surrounded by family and friends. He also loved to watch Westerns and Lion King. James loved his family especially being dad, grandfather and a great grandfather he said it comes with wisdom. He was such a family man.
In 2019 James became very ill but he continued to fight. On December 4th his father called him home peacefully in his home.
James leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter Jannice Brown, two grandchildren Janell Brown and James Barksdale, his ex wife Agnes Dua, three siblings John B Brown, Lawrence Brown, Sue Brown,one niece Toshia Brown, one nephew Barriet Brown, one great nephew Anthony (RJ) Colson, Good friend Sandy Peeples six great grandchildren and a host of family and friends
