James Hanak of Milford, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 5, 1950, Jim was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures, from the warmth of his family gatherings to the quiet moments spent in nature.
A lover of the outdoors, Jim was often seen enjoying the world's beauty from his back porch, whether watching the sunset, tending to the lawn, taking care of the pool, or simply taking in the peace of nature. His love for the Pocono Mountains, where he spent countless hours hunting and fishing, was matched only by his deep affection for his family. He had a special way of making every gathering memorable, often around the grill, where he shared his passion for BBQing with loved ones. Fireworks displays, too, were a favorite of his — nothing delighted Jim more than hearing his grandkids’ laughter and watching their eyes light up as they shared those magical moments.
Jim was a man of humor and warmth, known for his playful sayings like "scooby, dooby, doo," and the infamous song "Everybody likes me," which always brought a smile to those around him. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren and his loyal dog, Abby, his constant companion. His presence was a source of comfort, and all who knew him will feel his absence deeply.
Jim leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and a deep connection to the outdoors and family. He will be remembered not only for his kind heart, calm nature, and infectious sense of humor but also for the joy he brought to every life he touched.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, and children: (sons) Jimmy Jr., Cody, and Denis; (daughters) Jessie, Katrina, Joanie, and Stephanie. Jim was incredibly proud of his 18 grandchildren and extremely excited to add one more grandbaby, due in January. His family was his greatest joy, and he was a constant and loving presence in their lives.
Jim also leaves behind his loyal dogs, Abby and Hank, and his cats, Truffles and Waffles, who brought him comfort and companionship every day.
Jim's life will be celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who enjoyed his company.
