Potratz, James JosephJames J. "Jim" Potratz, 83, Village of Fox Crossing, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Bridges of Appleton. He was born on June 6, 1934, in Neenah to the late Douglas and Mary (Zellner) Potratz. James was united in marriage to Anna Marie Kellnhauser on October 29, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, where they are members of the Parish. He worked at Neenah Paper Company, as a Machine Tender, until his retirement in 1993. James honorably served in the US
Army from 1957 to 1959. He was fond of attending polka festivals, playing sheephead, dominoes, and tending to the peonies in his garden. James enjoyed spending time with Anna where they were vendors at craft shows selling his hand-crafted doll furniture. He liked camping at Pineland Camping Park in Arkdale for over 26 years. James was a very caring man and will be missed by many.James is survived by his wife: Anna; children: Michael Potratz, Robert Potratz, John (Margaret) Potratz, William Potratz and Susan (Bruce) Schucknecht, 3 grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Joan (Dave) Barribeau and Donna KellnhauserHe was preceded in death by his brother: Douglas Potratz, sister: Mary Huhn, brothers-in-law: James and George (Doris) Kellnhauser, sister-in-law: Dorothy Kellnhauser and father-and mother-in-law: Hugo and Frances Kellnhauser. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. Immediately following the Mass, full military honors will be presented by members of the US Army and the Neenah-Menasha
Veterans Honors Team.The family would like to thank the staff at The Bridges for their compassionate care.
