ELBERON - James Lee Savedge passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at his home. He was a retired banker with United Virginia Bank and a retired farmer. James was a member of Webber Memorial Baptist Church in Chesterfield since 1956, where he faithfully served in numerous capacities including the finance committee as well as singing in the Sanctuary Choir. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. James was born on May 6, 1932 to the late Francis J. and George Lee Savedge. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; a grandson, Jamie Watson, a brother-in-law, Charles Wesley Barlow, and his best friend, Horace King. Survivors include his son, Steve (Bonnie) daughters, Debbie Clark (Steve), and Dawn. Boone (Jeremy); grandchildren, Steven Savedge, Angela Watson, Lindsey Boone, and Steven Clark; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Victoria, Veronica, Valarie, Treaverse and Vanessa; sister, Gertrude S. Barlow; nephews, Wayne and Hugh Barlow, as well as his church family and many other friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Webber Memorial Baptist Church, 7800 Salem Church Rd., Richmond, VA 23237 from 6 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the church. Burial will follow at Moore's Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Elberon.
