James Leland Chapman, 76, passed away on Nov. 30, 2016, in Klamath Falls, Ore., with family by his side. He was born on July 8, 1940, to Calvin and Nattie Chapman in Ottawa, Kan. He was primarily raised in Yakima, Wash., and lived most of his adult life in California. James served in the U.S. Army. He and his wife Patricia moved to Oregon in 2001. James is survived by his wife, Patricia Chapman of Klamath Falls; sons, James Chapman Jr. of Yakima and Michael Chapman of New Braunfels, Texas; daughter, Michele Hawley of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Nattie Chapman; late wife, Dianne Chapman; and sister, Marceline Lane. A private gathering for family and a memorial to come at a later time.
