James M. CarterNorfolk - James "Jim" Myles Carter LCDR USN RET passed away unexpectedly October 31, 2016 in his home.Jim was born on October 30, 1941 in Lowell Mass to the late John Carter and Charlotte Snow Carter.Jim us survived by his most loved and adored wife of 36 years Joan Carter, a Stepdaughter and her husband, Lois and Chris Woodcock of Bristol England, a Stepson, Simon Hounslow of Chesapeake and 2 Grandchildren, Lee and Nicole who he loved so very much.After graduating from Naval Postgraduate School, Jim proudly served his Country retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. While stationed in England Jim met and married his wife Joan and became Stepfather to 2 loving Stepchildren. After retirement from the Navy Jim continued his civilian career and was employed as a representative of Bankers Life up until the time of his passing.
