MILLIUS, James M.March 29, 1929 – July 6, 2017James (Jim) M. Millius passed away in Calgary on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Jim is survived by his children, Jim (Cheryl Taylor), Annmarie (Bill Scollard) and Mark (Tena Clark); grandchildren Christopher Jones and Erin (Kyle Doyle); great-granddaughter Brooklyn Doyle; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife and best friend Shirley on October 14, 2003; daughter-in-law Candice; his parents, Felix and Christina Millius; brothers, John, Rudy, Ray; his twin Herman; and by sister Loretta. Jim was born on March 29, 1929 in Odessa, Saskatchewan to Russian immigrants Felix and Christina Millius. After serving in the Canadian Air Force reserves, Jim returned to Regina where he attended Normal School to obtain his teaching certificate. He moved to Calgary in 1958 where he taught with the Calgary Separate School Board until his retirement in 1986. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive NW) on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
