James “Fat Daddy” Malone Jr., 66, of Rosedale, Mississippi, succumbed to cancer in Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Mississippi on September 5, 2019 after spending several months in Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven, MS.
Fat Daddy is survived by his daughter, Sharron Gibson, Rosedale, MS; and sons, Anthony (Bridget) Gibson, Brandon, MS; James Gibson, Memphis, TN; Eddie (Tammie) Gibson Sr., Cordova, TN; Davie (LaKendra) Pates, Rosedale, MS; Robert Pates, Rosedale, MS; Kenny Pates, Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a very special friend, Rosezena Jones of Rosedale, MS; and his parents, James Malone Sr., Chicago, IL and Bessie Mae Lewis, Chicago, IL. He is survived by his siblings: sisters, Lessie Malone, Chicago, IL; Dorothy Malone, Chicago, IL; Sarah Lewis, Chicago, IL; Lorraine Lewis, Chicago, IL; and brothers, Jimmy Malone, Chicago, IL; Habert Lewis, Chicago, IL; and Norman Lewis, Chicago, IL. He leaves behind many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Thelma Gibson, Rosedale, MS. He was a loving father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone.
Fat Daddy was a member of Eastern Star Church in Rosedale, MS that was led by Pastor Larry Williams Sr. which later merged with other churches to form Riverside United Baptist Church of Rosedale. He was a Domestic Animal Farmer for over 50 years. He also worked at Baxter’s Healthcare Corporation in Cleveland, MS and 32 years of service as a machinist at Alabama Metal Products in Rosedale, MS. He was a compassionate person that believe in helping people and removing unwanted commodities within the community.
