James Santiago, beloved husband, father, and storyteller, passed away on June 12, 2024, in his hometown of Rochester, New York. He was born on March 5, 1974, to Manuel Santiago and Li Quintana.
Married to Leslie Avery in 2016 and the father of three and grandfather of one James always made it clear that despite tough times they were his source of strength.
James had a passion for writing and storytelling, bringing joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of hearing his tales. Animated and a natural entertainer and effortless comedian, he was easily the bright spot of any family gathering.
"If I was good for nothing else, I'm always good for a laugh." - James
Although James has left this world, his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, James Santiago. You will be dearly missed.
Due to the sudden and sensitive nature of James' return home the service will be an intimate gathering of those closest in his father's hometown where James always swore he would retire to and we mean to make that happen for him. However, we will be hosting a life celebration open to anyone that had the privilege of knowing him. We kindly ask to prevent overwhelming those grieving that instead of calls and texts to please email: [email protected] for the details and to extend condolences. We also ask for your patience as he himself had a hand in these plans and we are trying our best to honor them.
