He married Cynthia Erskine in 1975, and they lived together in South Plainfield. James worked at Carpenter .

James is survived by 1 child: Nigel Erskine . He also is survived by 3 grandchildren :Emyni Erskine,Mariah Erskine and Katrina Erskine
