James L. McCollisterMANSFIELD: James L. McCollister, 78, passed away suddenly from a massive stroke, on Sunday, May 14, 2017.James was born on March 21, 1939, in Wilmington, OH, to James W. and Eva M. (Ivers) McCollister Honaker. He was a 1957 graduate of Otway High School, and moved his family to the Mansfield area in 1966. He retired from Gorman Rupp after over 30 years of service. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. James was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a lifetime NRA member. He and his wife Pam enjoyed walking. He was a very hard worker and provider for his family. He is survived by six children, Joe (Jen) McCollister of Mansfield, Steven C. McCollister of Otway, Amy Schofield of Columbus, Andi (Darryl) Tibbs Poiner of Martin, TN, Charles Carter of Lexington, and James M. McCollister of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Jesse (Aerie), Sean, LeAnne, William, Krystene, Christian, and Zavier; three great-grandchildren, Kanyon, Leland, and Austin; one sister, Ann Morgan of Amherst, Massachusetts; his first wife and lifelong friend, Mary McCollister; his good friend, Andra Webb; and numerous nieces and nephews.James was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Pam McCollister.Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Real Life Community Church, 670 Kentucky Ave, Mansfield. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Phil Green officiating.
