James "Pee Wee" Pannell, born on February 6, 1949, in Belden, Mississippi, passed away on April 9, 2024. He was the beloved son of Cleophes and Mae Sue Lee Pannell. He was the fourth born of six children.
He professed hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Tupelo M.B. Church in Tupelo, MS.
James attended Belden High School where he was an outstanding basketball player, and he futhered his education at IJC where he went on to play there as well. He later married his high school sweetheart, Ada Judon Pannell, and to their union three children were born: Andre, Cletus, and Latoya.
He had a successful career in manufacturing. James was known for his skills as a welder, inventor, and supervisor, making significant contributions to the industry throughout his life.
James leaves behind a loving family, including his five children: Andre Pannell of Nashville, TN; Latoya Pannell (Greg Buchanan) of Tupelo, MS; Felix Shumpert of Dorsey, MS, and two daughter-in-law's, Meka Colburn of Fulton, MS and Kimberly Pannell of Okolona, MS, one brother Arthur B. (Eloise) Pannell of Dorsey, MS; Dorothy (Ozzie) Penn of Cleveland, OH; Bertha Pannell of Belden, MS; and Ann (Sylvester) Thomas of Tuprlo, MS; one brother-in-law, Howard Monroe of Saltillo, MS. He was also a proud grandfather to twenty-two grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was pewceeded in death by his parents, Cleophes and Mae Sue Pannell; two sons, Fredrick Colburn and Cletus Pannell; and 2 grandchildren.
James cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
