CRISFIELD - James Norman Eberhart passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at his home. James was born on Jan. 2, 1935 in Troxelville, Pa., to the late Helen Norman and Dale James Eberhart, of Lewisburg, Pa. In 1956, James married Eleanor Chaffey and moved to North Carolina where his children were born. There he continued to operate his hauling business in road construction until 1966 when he moved his family to a farm in Rehobeth, Md., where he began a life of farming and poultry production. James was a 50 year member of the Marion Lions Club where he served as past President and Zone Chairman. He was recently awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship award, the highest Honor a Lion can receive. James was also an active member of the Somerset County Farm Bureau believing strongly in Farmers rights. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Lewis James Daugherty. James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Eberhart, of Crisfield; his two children, Sherry Wheatley and husband, Lee, of Gloucester, Va. and Terry James Eberhart and wife, Elizabeth, of Rehobeth, Md. He was a proud PopPop to Lewis, Randi, Erin and Erich, along with his nine great-grandchildren, Josh, Hunter, Kaitlynn, Ethan, Ava, Emory, Grayson, Kacilynn and Graydon. A funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at John H. Shaw, III Funeral Home in Lewisburg, Pa., where a viewing was Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment was in Lewisburg Cemetery.
