James P. JacksonAGE: 82 • Jackson, NJJames Patrick Jackson, 82, of Jackson, formerly of Barnegat, passed away on May 14, 2017. James was born on July 7, 1934 in Newark, NJ to John and Rose Jackson. He was one of seven children. He grew up in Newark and moved to Parsippany where he worked for Prudential Insurance Company. He started with the company part-time when he was 16 years, retiring 41 years later. James was very proud of serving in the National Guard for 12 years. After retirement, he moved to Barnegat, where he lived for 23 years. He continued to enjoy traveling and golfing regularly. James spent the last 3 years residing at Sunrise Assisted Living of Jackson. He regularly participated in their activities and enjoyed the time he spent there. He loved life. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church, Barnegat. James was well loved by all his nieces and nephews. Mr. Jackson was predeceased by all his siblings, John, Phil, Rose, Bette, Joseph and Eugene. He is survived by his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, along with friends. A Viewing will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 8:00-9:30 am at Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 335 South Main St., Barnegat, NJ 08005. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Mary's RC Church, Barnegat. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Manahawkin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, c/o St. Mary's Church, P.O. Box 609, Barnegat, NJ 08005.
