James Powell, 68, of Oakland, California, passed Thursday, March 08, 2018. James was born to James Sr Powell, and Joyce Smith, February 08, 1950 in Los Angeles, California.

James graduated from Jefferson in 1967 and worked for the United States Marines until he retired in 1998. After his retirement, he moved to Oakland, CA where he worked as an airplane mechanic.

James entertained with his humor, and the world was a funnier place while he was in it. If James could change anything about his life, he might choose to change his golf game... but not a single other thing. With this life over, James is surely announcing that he "will begin again."

James is survived by 2 children: Tracy, and Jordan, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
