Hughes, James R.James R. Hughes, 84, Junction City, died on Sunday, September 3, 2017, surrounded by his family at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City, with Rev. John Ofori-Domah officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and Jim's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and on Friday from 9:00 am until service time at St. Michael's Catholic Church. James was born on December 11, 1932 in Marshfield to Raymond and Matilda (McHugh) Hughes. He was a 1951 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School. Jim had worked in the family business, Hughes Service in Milladore for over 70 years, serving many people and making many friends. He had served in the Wisconsin National Guard and was a volunteer fire fighter for the Village of Junction City. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards and especially enjoyed his family. He married Eunice J. Joosten on September 29, 1953 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eunice, and their children, Rick (Kim) Hughes of Byron, IL, Randy (Candy) Hughes of Racine, Barb (Pat) Jelinski of Plover and Kim (Steve) Hodgson of Plover. He is also survived by grandchildren, Erin, Shaun, Patrick, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Heidi, Haley, Brittney, Samantha and Kylie and 8 great grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Audrey (Robert) Heitzinger of Milladore and Grace (Ron) Minch of Vesper. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Mark Hughes and a sister Dawne Haasl. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in Jim's name to the Hope is Building Campaign for the new
