"Rod" Massie, 50, passed away on Sunday October 8, 2017 after a sudden illness and a long journey.He was born on December 23, 1966 in Muncie, the son of James D. and Shari (Johnson) Massie.James had his own lawn care service, R.&R. Lawn Care Services that he operated along with his fiancé.James leaves to miss and cherish his memory; his parents, Jim and Shari Massie; one sister, Lynn Peters; his niece, Shantel Gibson (husband, James); great-niece, Auziah Billiter who called him "Uncle Obbie"; his fiancé, Rachel Garrett; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom "T.J." Massie; and grandparents, Paul and Frances Johnson and C.B. and Edith Massie.A private family service will be held at a later date and cremation will take place.The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
