Proebsting, James R. James R. "Jim" Proebsting of the town of Hartford died on Monday, February 6, 2017 in Door County at the age of 56 years. He was born on June 15, 1960 in Appleton to David and Sue (nee Beglinger) Proebsting. As a child, his family moved to Hartford, where he made many treasured life-long friends. After graduating from Hartford Union High School with the Class of 1978, he served with the United States Army. After his discharge, he returned to Wisconsin, and worked as a dental laboratory technician. In 1990, he started his own business, Probe Ceramic Studio. On September 19, 2009, he was united in marriage to Julie Bloy on Round Lake aboard the Chief Waupaca. Our family has lost a vibrant part of its amazing core. His playful sense of humor, gigantic laugh, and his unending enthusiasm for living life to the fullest will be greatly missed. Jim's competitive nature was evident on the high school swim team, on the golf course, poker table, epic Waupaca bocce tournaments and simply at the family game table. May the Jimmy stories live on forever in our hearts... Survivors include his wife Julie Bloy Proebsting; step-children Bridgid and JP McGuire; his parents Dave and Sue of Waupaca; 2 brothers John (Kathy) of Hartford and Doug (Wendy) of Pewaukee; nieces and nephew: Whitney (Eric) Shneyder, Andrew, Marissa and Belle; father-in-law Harlan (Ruth) Bloy of Green Bay; sister-in-law Kris (Brian) Finell of Germantown and their daughter Megan; other relatives and many, many friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 3:30 PM at the Schmidt Funeral Home, N168 W20135 Main Street (Hwy 60), Jackson. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 11 AM until 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials given in Jim's honor will be greatly appreciated. SCHMIDT FUNERAL HOME www.schmidtfuneralhome .com 262-677-4993
