James R Denny (Jimmy) of Fairfax,Virginia passed away on November 15, 2024.
James was born on October 12, 1941 to Louise Detwiler Denny and Eugene Denny in Clifton, Virginia.
James was united in marriage on March 19, 1962 to his wife of over 53 years, Beverly “Bev” A. Denny. Jimmy and Bev built their home in Clifton, Virginia where they resided for over 35 years raising their family before retiring to Montross, Virginia.
James graduated from Fairfax High School where he played football, a punter, who was known to all as “Golden Toe”. James attended American University and was a career law enforcement officer with the City of Fairfax Police Department where he retired in the ranks of Police Lieutenant. James went on to work for US Airways for many years before retiring a second time.
After the unexpected passing of his wife, James relocated to Florida to reside closer to his children.
James will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. Before her passing, Jimmy and Bev enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. James enjoyed boating, fishing, watching football and one of his favorite shows “Survivor “.
James is survived by his only brother Eugene “Butch” Denny and leaves behind his 3 daughters Tammy Loth, Tina Denny, and Teresa Denny. He was the proud “Grandaddy” to his 4 grandchildren Clarissa Salas, Brittany Moreno, Courtany Blanchet, and Ashley Myers, and “Great Grandaddy” to 6 great grandchildren Annika Salas, Mikaela Salas, Scarlett Myers, Knox Myers, Reece Myers, and Olivia Moreno.
Rest in Peace Dad. What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. “See Ya Later”.
James will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Beverly in Clifton, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
