James Van JordanJames Van Jordan of Shreveport, Louisiana, 93, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 12, 2016. He was born on November 12, 1923 in Sikes, Louisiana to Brealon J. Jordan and Emma Lee (Adams) Jordan. James served proudly in
WWII in the United States Army from1943-1946. On November 26, 1947 he married his first love, Wilma Guice Jordan. Together, they had one daughter, Kathryn Jordan Cadenhead of Denton, Texas, and one son, Mark Van Jordan of Martinsburg, West Virginia. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years. James remarried and was also preceded in death by his second wife, Murlene Gates Bass Jordan.James had a radiating love for Jesus. He adored his Church and loved serving people with love and kindness. He also thoroughly enjoyed his LSU Tigers. James cherished being outside and tending to his garden. His love of his faith, family, and friends were most important to him.He is survived by his twin brother, J.D. Jordan, his two children, Kathryn J. Cadenhead and husband, Thomas A. Cadenhead, son, Mark V. Jordan, three granddaughters, Amie Smith, Sara Darby, and Erin Cadenhead, and four great grandsons; Caden Smith, Brecken, Bowen, and Brooks Darby, who all knew him as "Papoo". A Life Celebration service will be held at Woodridge Baptist Church on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1 P.M. Dr. Chuck McInturf will serve as officiant."Well done, good and faithful servant.
