James T. Vincent, Sr.Born: December 20, 1936; in Chicago, ILDied: December 3, 2016; in McHenry, ILJames T. Vincent, Sr., age 79, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Centegra Hospital, McHenry surrounded by the love of his family.Jim was born on December 20, 1936 in Chicago, to James and Lillian (Coopman) Vincent. On September 23, 1958, he married his one and only true love, Karen Bell Kauffman. Jim was a graduate of Crane Tech High School in Chicago. He had an extraordinary interest in anything automotive, especially older model trucks and cars. Jim never passed up an opportunity when it came to midget car racing. Jim spent his life working as a mechanic in the elevator industry. Much of his free time was spent hunting for deer in the North Woods of Wisconsin or fishing any local pond. His love for all animals was unsurpassed. Jim was a very loving husband and father and a doting grandpa and great grandpa. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Jim is survived by his wife, Karen; son, James (Lori) Vincent, Jr.; daughter, Kimberly (Jim) Ruck; grandchildren, Michael, DJ, Kaydie, Kassidy, Kevin, Kyle, Kirk, Keith, Keefer, Griffin, Grier, Shannon, Joey; great grandchildren, Daniel, Tessa, Robert, John Zander; a sister, Theresa Horist; sisters-in-law, Estelle (Randy) Nimsgern, Brenda Vincent, Annette (the late Michael) Karlin; a brother-in-law, John (the late Teena) Kochan; and many loving nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Vincent; son, Daniel Vincent; daughter, Karen Avery.Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until the 4:30 p.m. Celebration of Life service at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081Memorials to the at www.donate.cancer.org would be appreciated by the family.
