James Wendell Marks, 91, passed on November 10, 2022. He was born to Foster Marks and Marylin Marks on January 08, 1931.
Together they raised 2 children Larry Marks (Carolyn Marks), Marshall Marks (Kenya Marks). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Joshua Marks, Lauren Marks, Imani Tilman and Montell Marks.
James graduated from Brunswick High School in 1948.
James worked at Brunswick County Public Schools until he retired in 1998 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. James took pride in the janitorial duties assigned to him and made it a point to interact with the students he saw on a daily basis. James was known for his diligence and attention to detail when it came to his job duties, as well as having an smile anyone could remember. His gold crown sparkled with the touch of light every time he cracked a smile and was well received by his colleagues and students around the school.
James was a loving husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking on projects around the house whether it be creating a garden for his wife, building a treehouse for his two sons, and building a shed from scratch to house all of his tools and nick-nacks. He was also passionate about baseball and basketball, 2 sports in which he played during his 4 years in high school.
James leaves to cherish his memory his son; Larry Marks. His four grandchildren - Joshua Marks, Lauren Marks, Imani Tillman and Montell Marks. His cousins; Jerod Tasky, Silange McDowell, Fred Tasky and Sherman Jenkins. He also leaves behind his childhood best friend Lamont Nockson and his Godson; Kena Nockson.
