James Wesley CarterRoanoke, ALJames Wesley Carter, age 72, of Roanoke, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Shari Carter of Roanoke; his son, Mark Wesley Carter of Fort Pierce, Florida; his daughter, Sharman Carter Colton of Fort Pierce, FL; two grandchildren, Courtney Colton and Layton Mack; and his brother, Edward Carter of Florida. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother. A native of Fort Pierce, Florida, Jimmy was born on July 8, 1945, the son of Margaret Johnson Bearden. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs. He was a lifetime hunter and had a special love for the mountains of Idaho. Jimmy began his career with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office as a deputy. He retired as a sergeant after 30 years of faithful and dedicated service.
