Jana GradyJohnstonJana Lou Grady, 63, of Johnston, IA passed away on July 17, 2017 surrounded by her family. Jana was born on January 18, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Joseph and Wilma (Coover) Grady. Jana liked helping people, received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Iowa and was a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Jana was united in marriage to David Leitner on September 11, 1982 in Forest City, IA and they had two children. Jana was devoted to her family and enjoyed reading, traveling, flowers, art and music. Jana is survived by her husband, David Leitner; children, Morgan Leitner and Gabriel Leitner; granddaughter, Elliana Ruth Leitner; siblings, Michael (Narola) Grady and Susan (Charles) Fenwick; uncle and aunt, Art and Pat Beckman, and several nieces and nephews. Those who have already passed away include her parents; brother, Patrick Grady and nephew, Kyle Grady.A Memorial Gathering will be Friday, July 21, 2017 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale, IA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amanda the Panda or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
