Jane Donahue Durbin, 80, of Bardstown, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at her residence. She was born on April 24, 1933, in New Hope, was a retired secretary for House of Nelson which became Smith Brothers Distributing for a total of 52 years, a member of St. Joseph Church where she also served as a eucharist adorer, a volunteer for Federal Hill Manor bingo for years, member of Nelson County AARP and played the organ for many years at Holy Cross Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Pike Durbin; her parents, John Francis and Marie Mattingly Donahue; five brothers, Nolan, Randall, Billy, Paschal and Donnie Donahue; and a sister, Linda Sullivan.Survivors include two sisters, Doris (Joe) Gorman, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Carol (Mark) Tuttle, of Lexington; four brothers, Leon Donahue, of Louisville, Tommy (Rose) Donahue, of Bardstown, Jim (Bette) Donahue, of Bardstown, Larry (Pam) Donahue of Avon, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brenda Donahue and Lisa Berry.Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Chris Rhodes celebrated. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, with prayers at 6 p.m. at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10.Contributions have been requested to , St. Joseph Masses and building fund. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
