EVELYN JANE (BARRICKLOW) ROUSSER Jane passed away after a long illness on October 28, 2016. Jane was a native Californian, born to Harold Dale and Margaret Adele Barricklow, in Long Beach on March 17, 1942. She was raised and educated in California. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Education from Washington State University. Following her Bachelor's degree at WSU, she earned her Master's degree in counseling from the University of Kansas but afterwards moved back to California where her family resided. It was in Riverside that she was hired to teach science at Arizona Middle School where she met her future husband, Wesley Rousser. Wes and Jane were married at the Mission Inn on August 9, 1969. Their only daughter Margaret LaVerne was born on January 30, 1973. Jane taught elementary and middle school for 30 years. One of the highlights of her teaching career occurred when she was flown to Virginia to receive an award when a former student named her as his most influential teacher. After retiring from teaching, she became the coordinator for the CLAD program at University of California, Riverside. Jane and Wes' love of travel led them on the quest to visit all the world's seven continents. Their quest was fully realized in 2008 when they visited their last continent, Antarctica. Jane was a devout member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, serving on Session, and on other various committees. She also served as a commissioner to the Presbytery and as mentor to divinity students who were seeking ordination. Her love of animals led her to volunteer at Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center for several years. Jane is survived by her husband Wes; her daughter Margaret; her godson Michael Holm, and her niece and frequent caregiver Misti Vest, along with numerous extended family and many loving friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center. A memorial service will be held on November 19th at 3pm at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 4495 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside California. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements Entrusted to the Care of 9695 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92503 (951) 785-4071. Please go to
