Janet Ross LeavittSeptember 8, 1941 - March 17, 2016Janet Leavitt of Nampa, Idaho passed away peacefully in her home of natural causes on the morning of March 17, 2016. She was surrounded by loved ones in the days leading up to her passing. Janet was born on September 8, 1941 in Cripple Creek Colorado. The third of five children to Robert and Marion Ross. She was a beautiful blue-eyed girl with a radiant smile. Janet's family settled in the Homedale, Idaho area. It was there that Janet met Timothy Leavitt. They were married 18 years, and had four children together. Janet spent most of her life working in retail sales and enjoyed the opportunity to meet and help many wonderful people.Janet's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She had a way of making each and every one of them feel very loved and special. Her favorite song was "You are My Sunshine" which she sang to each of her grandchildren as she rocked them as babies. She enjoyed the simple things in life and found great pleasure in conversations with friends, family and those passing by. She loved the changing of the seasons, Autumn was her favorite. She always knew which flowers were in bloom, roses were her favorite.. She loved to cook, entertain and was always on the look out for a new recipe. She enjoyed painting, reading, country drives and walks...lots of walks.Janet is survived by her sisters and brother Donna Miava, Sandra Ludwig, and Robert Ross. Her children C. Todd Leavitt, Karen and Mike Tackett, and Tracy and Michael Neff, along with her grandchildren Ashley, Daniel, and Desiree Midby. Tessa Tackett. Hailey and Kayla Neff. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Marion Ross, her brother Jim Ross, and her daughter Laurie Lee Leavitt.Per Janet's request, there will be no public memorial service.
