Janet L. McFaddenDoverJanet L. (Bortner) McFadden, 88, of Providence Place, who was formerly of Manchester and Dover, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the home. She was the wife of the late Scottie H. McFadden, Sr.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with her pastor, the Rev. Edwina Landry, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jacob's Stone Church Cemetery, Glenville. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. McFadden was born on November 23, 1927, in Codorus Township and was a daughter of the late Levi E. and Effie (Kessler) Bortner.She had been employed as a Silk Weaver at the former Blue Bird Silk Mill in York for many years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Manchester, and the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local #446.Janet leaves a son, Scott H. McFadden, Jr. and wife Verda of Thomasville; a grandson, Scott H. McFadden III and wife Jill of Springfield, Va.; two grandchildren, Leo and Ivy McFadden; a sister, Jean Klinefelter of Landisville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Road, Suite C, York, PA 17402-9001.Condolences may be shared at geiple.com
