MILLER, Janet Marie Janet Marie (Mary) Miller, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at her home in Gainesville, VA. She was born on January 23, 1934 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Bruce Clement and Florence (Merlin) Nunn. Mary immigrated to the United States when she was 19. She married and remained in the U.S. until her death. Mary began her career as a medical records clerk. When her youngest child entered school she re-entered the workforce and became a successful Realtor/Broker in Virginia Beach, VA. In the early 80's Mary changed careers and became an accomplished Stock Broker with Quick & Reilly. Mary relocated to Greensboro, NC with her family in the mid 80's. She continued working as a Stock Broker with Quick & Reilly in Greensboro until she retired in 1997. After retiring with her husband to the Atlanta area, Mary pursued many of her hobbies such as playing bridge and bowling. She was an active member of the Newcomers Club of Atlanta where she also held office. Mary and her husband of 58 years, Tony, were highly involved members of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Duluth, GA. Survivors include her husband George Anthony Miller; three sons: Stephen Anthony Miller and wife Beth, Charles Bruce Miller and wife Jana, and Craig John Miller and wife Christine; three daughters: Janine Donovan, Ann Elizabeth Small and husband Ronald, and Mary Ellen Wade and husband Martin; one brother: Merlin Nunn and wife Joan; one sister: Betty Simpson and husband Gordon; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Johns Creek, Georgia with Father Joseph Mullakkara officiating. Interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to St Benedicts Catholic Church 11045 Parsons Rd, Duluth, GA 30097 may also be made.
