After a protracted battle with cancer, Ms. Janette Wilson died on November 2, 2016, in Richmond, Va., at the age of 61. She leaves behind a legacy to carry on with her children and grandchildren, her daughter, Melvennia Uzzle (Jimmie); and her sons, John Hill, Jr. (Natricia) and Terrel Wilson.Janette was born on December 16, 1954 in Charleston, W.Va, to father, James Jones, Sr. and mother, Barbara Wilson who have both preceded her in death.Janette first moved in Virginia in 1973 where she raised her children. Janette worked numerous jobs through out the years but remained a faithful employee with Walmart for over 25 years. Family and friends were Janette's passion and delight. She loved to cook and entertain and frequently had gatherings at her house.Janette was a driven individual with a secret love of cooking and doll making. When diagnosed with cancer in 2016, she remained dedicated in her work and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months.Janette is survived by not only her children, but her brothers, Robert Wilson, Anthony Eubanks, James Jones, Jr. and Anthony Jones; her sister, Regina Hines; and godsister, Joyce Alston; she also leaves behind her grandchildren, Reneese, Cierra, Sasha, Jimmie III, Westley, Tyra, Nickolas, Nigel, Hauson and Maliki; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marshall Bland, Jr.The family would especially like to thank the staff of MCV Massey Cancer Center for their constant, attentive treatment and the J.M.
