Celebrating Our Guardian Angel

Janice,  was a sweet and warm-hearted lady, who spent her life loving and doting on her family. She was born on August 19, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Otto Calloway and Regina (Farr) Calloway. She gained her angelic wings on February 8, 2020. Janice lived a joyful and vibrant life growing up on the Northside of Dallas, with her parents, two brothers, and five sisters. Janice attended Milton L. Kirkpatrick High School where she was a proud marching majorette. She graduated in 1975. In 1978, she married George T. Wright, Sr. That union was blessed with the birth of their son Timothy. Her marriage to Johnny C. Williams brought about four more children, Johnny, Reginald, Michelle, and Stacey. Janice felt blessed to be a young mother of five. She embraced motherhood and was guided by her gift for compassion and grace. Being a military spouse gave her an opportunity to travel the world. Alongside her children, she explored Japan, Portugal, and various Western European countries, collecting treasured memories and artifacts with each journey. Janice returned to Dallas in 1988 after the death of her husband. She found comfort in reconnecting with family and friends, and a developed relationship with Kerry B. Fuller, who became her beloved lifelong companion and supportive co-parent. After nurturing her children to adulthood, she became the caregiver for her elderly mother and began to divide her time between her home in Dallas and the Northside of Fort Worth. Over time, she spent most of her days on the Northside living life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She warmly welcomed visitors to the front porch along with her dearly loved mother, Big Mama. This connection to her mom, family, childhood home, and former friends and neighbors, brought her tremendous peace, and happiness. Janice also deeply cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted grandmother. She fiercely loved, supported, and celebrated her grandchildren in all their endeavors, never missing an opportunity to be fully present in their lives. She faithfully attended their baptisms, performances, school and sporting events, and graduations. She especially enjoyed making each grandchild feel special and loved on their birthday. Janice also enjoyed watching and cheerfully rooting for her granddaughters in pageants. As a former Miss KNOK Radio, she loved the glitz and glamour of the competition and spent her last days joyfully attending several Miss Texas qualifying pageants, skillfully and accurately predicting the winners. She was also passionate about playing games of chance like bingo and traveling to various casinos in Nevada, Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland, and Oklahoma. She was certain that one day she’d win the lottery, as she faithfully played each week. True to her generous spirit, she dreamed of the various ways she would lavish her “winnings” on her loved ones. Janice selflessly gave of her time and resources to friends and family and took a genuine interest in their well-being. Her greatest joy was seeing others happy. She will be deeply missed. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; Otto and Regina Calloway; her husband, Johnny C. Williams; her son George Timothy Calloway; her longtime companion, Kerry B. Fuller; and her sister Doris Jean Calloway. Her beautiful life and legacy will be cherished by her sons; Tony Williams (Lisa), Reginald Williams (Maria); her daughters, Michelle Calloway (Audwin), and Stacey Calloway (Arnold); and grandchildren, Remington, Schade, Margeaux, Cameron, Raphael, Randy, Darius, Kennedy, Meredith, Elijah, Arnold Jr., Nnamdi, and Chidera; and a host of other relatives and dear friends
