GREENTOWN — Janice David, age 95, of Greentown, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Chandler Place in Kendallville, Indiana. Mrs. David was born on Feb. 9, 1921, in Union Township in Howard County, Indiana, to Carl and June (Fox) Bryant. She graduated from Union Township High School in 1939. She married Doyle David on April 11, 1941, in Greentown. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2004, in Kokomo. She and Doyle lived their married life on the same farm that has been in the David family since 1874, while spending their winters in Bradenton, Florida. Mrs. David was a homemaker and helped run the family farm. She also worked at the Howard County News in Greentown from 1967 until she retired in 1980. She was a member of the Greentown First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Mary Ruth Circle and Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Union Township Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Carly David of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and Jan and Sandy David of Kendallville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Andy and Krissy David of Kendallville, Nick and Katie David of Kendallville, Bryant David of Tampa, Florida, Zach David of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Rocky David of West Hollywood, California; five great-grandchildren, Rylee David, Rae David, Kate David, Rian David and Kennedy David; a sister, Anne Smith of Punta Gorda, Florida; a sister-in-law, Nida Bryant of Greentown; a stepgranddaugher, Christin Golden of Fort Wayne; and a stepgreat-granddaughter, Ava Golden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle; a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann David; and one brother, Joe Bryant. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St. in Kendallville. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown.
