Janice "Gitza" Doubek, 68, of Westmont, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2022. She worked at Mr. Nick's Hair Salon for over 37 years and enjoyed spending time with her husband, sister, children, grandchildren. She also enjoyed meeting up with lifelong friends and her regular adventures with her Bunco group. Jan will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of getting to know her.

Jan was preceaded in death by her parents Lad Prucha and Doreen Prucha (Cunningham). Jan is survived by her loving husband Ted Doubek, her sister Sharon Prucha, her children Tim (Jordan) Doubek and Lisa (Jason) Widener, and six grandchildren Cole Widener, Rylee Widener, Brinley Doubek, Warren Widener, Rayna Widener, and Emerson Doubek.

Jan was always the type of person that was willing to help out anyone in need. She and Ted enjoyed a loving marriage for almost 50 years, having met in High School and getting married shortly after. She was extremely close to her sister and spent hours a week either going out to eat or talking to her on the phone. She loved both of her children and took advantage of the chance to visit them any chance she got. Her grandkids were her greatest joy and often times she refused to give them up while holding them as newborns, being given the title of the family "baby hog". She loved working at Mr. Nick's and had lifelong friends and customers she met over the years.

Everyone who had the opprtunity to meet and get to know her were better people because of her. She was someone who was not easily forgotten and will be in the hearts and memories of many people for the rest of their lives.
