On Friday, July 5th, Janice Caryl Stricker went to be with our Lord and Savior while surrounded by her loving family. Janice was born January 5, 1930 in Queens, New York to Edward and Meta Martin.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 67 years, Robert Henry Stricker of Tinton Falls.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Caryl (Charles) Chilldres of Lonoke, Arkansas, Edward(Shelley) Stricker of Long Valley, and Kenneth(Sherri) Stricker of Whitehouse Station; grandchildren: Ryan Chilldres of Lonoke, AR , Crystal(George) Adams, Jonesboro, AR , Erik Stricker of Brookline, MA , Paige Stricker of Greenville, SC , Hayley Stricker of Whitehouse Station and April Stricker of Whitehouse Station, three great grandchildren (Lexi, Faith, and Addie) and a host of devoted cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Not only was Janice a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she was one of many talents. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress, and her creativity and artistry were enjoyed by all especially her family. One of her first employment positions was Administrative Assistant to the President of Ciba in New York City. She always joked that she was so efficient and effective that when she left her position, two people had to be hired to take her place. Prior to her retirement she worked for Somerset County Human Services Department for over 20 years where she planned and organized the many tasks that contributed to its success.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love, comforting words, prayers, and all expressions of kindness and concern. Special thanks to the Seabrook Continuing Care Team and those that cared for her at Jersey Shore Medical.
Please join the family for a celebration of life at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road,
Basking Ridge on Friday July 19th @ 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at https://www.jdrf.org/donate/.
